Post-26/11, background checks must for new hires

MUMBAI: Ever since the 26/11 terrorist attacks, hotels in the city are not taking any chances and have hired the services of background screening firms and appointed ex-armed forces personnel, besides installing a host of new security devices to prevent such attacks in the future.
Ashish Dehade, managing director of First Advantage, a background screening firm, claims earlier only a couple of hotels consulted them, they now have more than a dozen hotels on their clientele.“After the attacks, every hotel has felt the need to address security issues seriously.”
Hotels have also installed baggage scanning machines, explosive detection devices, vehicle scanners etc.
Anil Paranjpe, vice-president, operations, The Orchid says, “Police suggested certain security measures, which we adopted.”
