Ever since the 26/11 terrorist attacks, hotels in the city are not taking any chances and have hired the services of background screening firms and appointed ex-armed forces personnel, besides installing a host of new security devices to prevent such attacks in the future.

MUMBAI: Ever since the 26/11 terrorist attacks, hotels in the city are not taking any chances and have hired the services of background screening firms and appointed ex-armed forces personnel, besides installing a host of new security devices to prevent such attacks in the future.
Ashish Dehade, managing director of First Advantage, a background screening firm, claims earlier only a couple of hotels consulted them, they now have more than a dozen hotels on their clientele.

Hotels have also installed baggage scanning machines, explosive detection devices, vehicle scanners etc.
Anil Paranjpe, vice-president, operations, The Orchid says, “Police suggested certain security measures, which we adopted.”
